Family Outfits from Old Navy:
Our #1 tip when we create coordinating outfits for the family, is to always start with mom’s outfit first. Often times, you are the one behind the camera. Family photos are special because you get to be in front of the camera! Choose an outfit that you feel confident in, and plan everyone’s outfit around yours. For example, if you are going for a bolder pattern, pull colors from your outfit to style your family but stray away from bold patterns on their outfits.
This fun floral midi dress is light and airy, which is perfect for summer photos. It’s a busy pattern, so we kept the rest of the family pretty simple. A flare dress for your little girl is always a good option. This is a piece that will look great in photos that she can wear over and over again. For the boys, we paired them in similar outfits. Putting dad in navy chino pants and your son in navy shorts keeps the cohesive theme without making it too matchy-matchy.
Family outfits from walmart:
If you are embracing the fun summer color palette, this one is for you! This plaid midi dress is absolutely adorable and will look great when pairing a dress and boy’s dress shirt in similar colors. We put dad in a simple white poplin shirt because mom’s dress is so fun, but if you want to make dad’s outfit the focal piece, Walmart has some great plaid dress shirts!
Family Outfits from gap:
If you are opting for a more casual look overall, we found some cute looks from GAP. Mom can go for a cute blouse and jeans and dad can rock a bright blue polo shirt with khakis. Putting the littles in fun floral patterns brings the look together. We love these looks because if you’re taking outdoor pictures in the summertime, the greenery really speaks for itself. You can tone down the colors and patterns and take advantage of all of the beautiful greenery!
Family outfits from J. Crew:
J. Crew is another retailer that has looks for the whole family. A simple white lace-up dress is perfect for mom’s look. Chambray is one of those fabrics that you can’t go wrong with for photos, it looks great on camera. Putting dad in a chambray shirt and your son in a chambray button-up will make the family look more cohesive. This tiered eyelet dress is perfect for your little girl.
Coordinating outfits instead of matching allows for everyone’s personality to shine through. Planning outfits for the whole fam doesn’t have to be stressful, start by selecting an outfit you love and build onto it! We hope these looks helped give you some outfit inspiration for your next family photo shoot!
