We are officially a week into May! Can you believe it?! The kiddos are about to wrap up the school year, and we are looking forward to all the fun summer plans. After the kids have been out of school for a few weeks, boredom tends to strike. While you may have exciting plans for the summer, there will be a lull between those plans where the kiddos require a little entertainment. Stocking up on some fun summer activities that get them up and moving is the ultimate parent hack! We’ve found some goodies at Amazon, Walmart, and Target that are affordable AND fun. Keep reading for activities that will keep the kids busy this summer!
Summer Activities from Amazon:
If you are looking for several activities to keep the kiddos entertained, we’ve rounded up several finds from Amazon that are all under $25. All of these items are great for doing outside, so they can get some sun and take advantage of these warm summer months. Amazon has a lot of painting activities that you can display once they are finished like these sweet little birdhouses or stepping stones. These are fun for the kids but are so special to have around the house as they get older.

We also wanted to share some Amazon items that we have tried and our kids loved! All of our kids are involved in sports so even when they aren’t at practice, they are still practicing at home. Having a football at home to toss around is probably the easiest way to get them outside and moving. We’ve also had this supersized ball for years and it’s still in great shape. This ball has provided them with countless hours of fun.
Summer Activities From Target:
Big outdoor toys that the kids can climb can be pricey, but we found some fun alternatives under $30! This pop-up play tunnel is great for the littles. It’s easy to move around and fold for easy storage, too. It works for both indoor and outdoor play as well.
This whale tube sprinkler is so neat and will keep those littles entertained for hours! We remember running through the sprinklers and having so much fun, we know they will get a lot of use out of this one.

Our kids have enjoyed playing with this automatic football passer. It launches pretty far and keeps them entertained for hours at a time. We definitely recommend this one! This grow with me batting tee is also great for the littles working on their swing.
We recently grabbed this jump rope and bike light as well. Keeping them moving makes sure they burn all of that energy off before bed time and on days spent at home which can be difficult sometimes. Both of these activities are fun and keeps them active!
Summer Activities from Walmart:
We have a roundup of larger toys and activities that will be a big hit all under $50! How neat is this water slide and splash pool?! This is going to be so fun for the kids and allows them to keep cool on hot summer days. If you have younger kids, this rainbow splash pool is a smaller alternative for them but still so neat!
You can also take this opportunity to pick up some games for your backyard. These are not only great for the kids, they will also come in handy when you are hosting this summer.

We just picked up some new goodies from Walmart as well. All of these are kiddo-approved and will be tons of fun this summer! If an epic water balloon fight isn’t already on your summer bucket list- it should be. Grab this jumbo pack of over 265 balloons and have a water balloon fight with the whole family!
You can also pick up some sidewalk chalk that will definitely get used up by the end of summer, especially if your kids love all things artsy-related. Grab a pack and let them go to town on your sidewalks!
We can’t wait for all of the summer fun to commence, we hope these activities help keep you and your kiddos entertained all summer long!
